Hi Alex. Great channel. I've learned a lot from the videos. TY. I have a question about a scenario that occurred. I'd parked my 2020 Outback. To ensure there was clearance for the car in front of me, I went out to check. Issue: the car automatically locked the doors while it was running. I had the FOB in my hand & was stuck with an idling car. "ACCESS Key not detected" was displayed on the dashboard. Fob had a fresh battery, buttons were not working, the actual key didn't open any doors & pincode wasn't taking. Yet the car was still idling. Had to call AAA & waited for 1.45 min. till 2A.M. What could have happened? 2nd time something like this happened. I need to learn what to do should this happens again. Your help is greatly appreciated and needed.

I bought a 2018 subaru legacy limited and automatically assumed that I would be able to leave it running when it's super hot outside since my goldendoodle goes everywhere u go. I was very disappointed when I tried this and it didn't work. I had a 2012 cadillac srx that I could leave running and lock the doors with my fob. Is there a trick to it on the legacy?

My 2020 outback’s power seat is malfunctioning due to a missing motor drive end cap and Subaru will only sell me the entire lower seat assembly for $1k , the missing part is not listed on the diagram. Very disappointed with the accessibility of parts to maintain my Outback. I missed the 3 year timeline to purchase an extended warranty, 😢. This long time Subaru owner may be switching to Toyota

When adding a clicker to an old system I found I had to pair my clicker to a Home-Link button, then hit the learn button on the opener unit and go back to press the assigned Home-Link button in the car. The old lift unit could not connect directly after just programming the button with the working clicker. It needed then to learn how Home-Link transmitted that learned signal in order to make it work! After a month of trying, I finally won the race! 😅 I didn’t catch that this might be needed from any of the multiple ‘how to’ vids posted; just stumbled to it on my own. Maybe I have one of the oldest lifters out there. 😊

Is it advisable to have the windshield tinted to minimize damage to the interior and reduce the temperature? Hi Alex, my name is Bruce and I am 66 years old and will be turning 67 on September 6th, I retired after 40 years of driving a New York City transit bus in April 2023 and was waiting a little while to buy a new car and now was the time I just bought my first Subaru and I will probably be getting it around the end of July beginning of August. It is a 2025 Subaru Forster Touring the white with the black interior. My brother-in-law had bought a Forrester limited back in 2017 it was 2018 and loved his car always liked the Subarus, how safe they are and reliable and I knew they were coming out with this all new redesigned six generation and I just wanted to go and see what it look like so I went there and fell in love with it l think I’m going to really like this car and I’ve own a few different cars in my time anyway I love your videos on all the Subarus, particularly the forest touring. I’ve been trying to watch all of them to find out as much and everything I can about my new Forester that I am buying, so the question that I have for you if you don’t mind answering is I want to bring my Forester to the car wash maybe every couple of weeks after I get it and I would like to know What should I shut off so it does not get stuck in the car wash I think I know but I am not sure so could you please help me out and tell me thank you very much. Can you do a video on how to properly tie down dog crates in the back of a Subaru Forester? I read (I forget where) that the 2025 model has more tie down points in the rear, but are they strong enough for attaching to dog crates? I don't have a Subaru yet, but I'm considering the Forester. The Forester is tall enough for my dog's giant crate a Ruffland XL. These crates can protect a dog in a crash. But how to do it? There are Facebook groups for people looking to set up vehicles for dogs, the crates they ride in, sufficient air circulation from air conditioners, etc. Subarus are much liked as dog vehicles, and the Forester is tall enough for some of the biggest crates, while the Outback is not. Lots of people post with dimensions of various vehicles (which often need updating when a new model comes out), but not all model years are covered. It would be great to have a dog-friendly company like Subaru, or your channel, produce a list of some of the crates most preferred by dog owners and in which vehicles they will fit. Crates that have been crash tested for safety are popular choices for good reason. The dog vehicle FB groups often show pictures of crates fitting in specific year models. Lots of Subarus! Surprisingly my dog's Ruffland XL has been pictured on the rear seats in a Crosstrek! It fits sideways all the way across the vehicle, but it does actually fit. Your channel is often really helpful, and I hope you can consider including the topic of how to fit dog crates in and properly secure them. There are very likely Subaru owners near you who could bring in various crates for you to show.

Worst gas cap holder on any car I've owned.. it doesn't hold it well. It's ridiculous that Subaru designs an infotainment system that can't be cleaned with Windex. Not a fan of connecting my phone through CarPlay... dictation doesn't work right through car mic and it doesn't allow me to use apps like Shazam when I want to see what song is playing; extra annoying that if I make my car forget my phone it keeps prompting me to connect it. Perhaps Subaru just isn't for me as I mostly regret buying a '24 OBW.

"don't use the eliminator" well, that's a downvote. I'm absolutely buying one. Six months in, I still don't remember to press the button until it engages at an inopportune time (which is almost never at a red light and is usually when I'm trying to merge). Even when I do remember, the infotainment system is such laggy crap that there's a delay for several seconds before it is acknowledged... and since there's zero physical feedback for a button on the screen, there's no way of knowing if you even pressed it until it eventually responds. This leads to hitting it multiple times then watching it go off/on/off/on when it finally catches up with the lag. It's such a terrible "feature." Fuck that noise. It's well worth $100 to have the car remember your last setting which is all the device does. It's presumably safe and certainly effective, unless you have evidence otherwise?

Hi Alex! And help please! I just bought a 2023 (used) Wilderness. I went thru your steps, and all went well except after entering the PIN the first go round, it didn't beep indicating I should enter it again. Instead, it sounded like everything unlocked and it didn't take the second entry. I think I've screwed something up. And, of course, putting the key in sleep mode and checking to see if it worked...it didn't. Thoughts? Thank you! I love your videos.
